I learned recently that I am a direct descendent of several prominent
English Monarchs. Here is a list of all my ancestors in the line that
goes back to William the Conquerer, in the 11th century!
Thanks to the Wingfield Family Society for providing much of this information. There are 29 generations represented here, which means I am the great27 grandson of King William I. |

Hi Christopher, I can’t believe you are descendent of ‘Longshanks’—he got some bad PR in the movie Braveheart. And you’re such gentle nice fellow. I can’t prove it, but I am a descendent from classical Greek royalty. In fact Vasilaky means royal in ancient Greek. So there! PS—Great photos! |

I’m doing a research paper for some monarchs and this was a great reference! Thank you very much for everything you do in this world. Slowly people like you will soon be shown and known. |

Wonder if you are related to Jerry Vasilaky from Washington Heights? |

Hi Rose, Thank you for inquiring about Jerry. I am his wife. I lost Jerry five years ago. He was a wonderful human being and greatly missed. Did you know George, Peter or Johnny? I'd love to hear from you. |

Hi, Found your site on a search for Edward Longshanks. I also found out only recently that I'm descended from this king - from his son Edmund of Woodstock. Isn't it a small world! Yes, as someone else has commented, Longshanks surely got bad PR through the Braveheart movie, but also achieved a lot of administrative breakthroughs. I recommend Winston Churchill's "History of the English-Speaking People" for more info. Cheers and catch you round, Simon Young |

Hi Cuz, We're 17th Cousins, two generations removed :) Our common ancestors are Robert Gousell and Elizabeth Fitz Alan. I suppose we're all related somewhere back there, but it's always fun to find a cousin on the Internet. Enjoyed your site. |

I also descend from William the Conquerer through Robert and Elizabeth (Cecil) Wingfield's daughter Dorothy. Dorothy married Adam Claypoole (ancestor of James Claypoole one of the first settlers in Philadelphia). My grandmother is a Claypoole (Wilma (Claypoole) Hawley). |

William 1 “the conqueror” and I must be related. My first name is also Bill or William and I really like to take land from my ex lovers in court! Plus, the image on your web site looks just like me. Thanks to your web site, I will now askmy friends to call me sir or King. |

Great site! Like you I am the descendant of monarchs 1 through 7. My line then continues through Edward II. I had to hang my head in shame when the movie "Braveheart" came out. Nice to meet a cousin! |

Message for Marylin Vallis. I just saw your response today when I was showing my girlfriend how to do a search. I am so very sorry about Jerry. He was the sweetest boy and we were talking about him in a reunion. Hope you get in touch with me. Rose |
